The idea of getting paid for hanging out in bed all day is about to become real. “Bed Rest Studies” is a study that will be conducted by NASA where some participants will be required to stay in bed for 2 months. $50,000 is the amount that each participant will get just for staying in bed.
Besides sleeping they will be able to read, play video games, use their phones, and watch TV. The idea behind this study is to see how humans, in this case the astronauts react toward resting for a long period of time.
There is the non-exercising and the exercising group of participants. The first group is required to rest all the time, while the second one is required to stay active while laying down. The study will specifically conduct each of the following:
- Nervous systems
- Circulatory system
- Body’s ability to fight infections
